Ascension brackets announced via Text Messaging
Next Era Wrestling's annual Ascension tournament, occuring this Saturday, features 8 of the most exciting and dynamic superstars in Rochester... the first round matches are worth the price of admission alone.
The Board of Directors have agreed to release the first round brackets, but only for those signed up for NEW's Text Messaging service. We here at NextEraWrestling.com are under a gag order and cannot reveal the brackets, but we can urge all fans to sign up for text service at broadtexter.com/nextera. NEW's HC Loc competes at The Funking Conservatory
NEW Northeastern Champion HC Loc recently spent sometime in the sunny state of Florida competing at Dory Funk Jr's training facility. Loc lost in the mainevent 6-man tag match... Dory himself was on the opposing team.
Dory Funk is a former National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion, his Funking Conservatory is one of the premier training facilities in the entire world, having trained dozens of wrestlers currently competing in WWE and TNA. More information can be found at dory-funk.com.
4th Annual Ascension on the horizon
Next Era's 4th annual anniversary show, named ASCENSION, will emanate on Saturday October 11th from The Brighton Sports Zone in Henrietta. Headlining the event will be 4th installment of the Ascension Tournament, where the winner recieves a heavyweight championship match whenever they choose. Past tournaments have read like a whos-who in local wrestling, and winners have included Superbeast, Robert Ezekyo, and Kriptic. This year's tournament will feature experienced veterans such as JP Black, Jerrelle Clark, "Big Rig" Brodie Lee, and JC Money, young up-and-comers like The Irish Bear Patrick O'Malley and "Latin Soldier" Luis Johnson, and former World Champions Ryot and Superbeast.
Also on the card... Northeastern Champion HC Loc was able to hold onto his belt by getting himself disqualified in a match against Chance Taylor, but at Ascension, Loc will try his luck against Chance's trainer Tyger Smith.
All this plus much more, including the annual Costume Battle Royal, will go down on October 11th.
JP Black taking his final ride?
After defeating Nick Paradise to become the first qualifier for the Ascension 4 tournament; JP Black told the fans in attendance that he is making a final tour before hanging up his boots and hat. "The Dark Pony" also stated that he doesn't plan on leaving on his back. His intentions are to win the Ascension 4 tournament and get revenge on North Eastern Champion HC Loc for stealing 2 months of his career.
"Big Rig" Brodie Lee makes his return
After a successful and ground breaking European Tour "Big Rig" Brodie Lee makes his return to N.E.W. at Ascension 4. The Championship Committee has granted Lee a spot in the Ascension 4 tournament, making him an instant favorite to win the tournament.
Troubles in the Banana Tree?
After suffering a confusing and discouraging defeat at the hands of Blasts from the Past and Josh Jordan at End of Days all does not seem well for the N.E.W. US Tag Team Champions Spot Monkeys Inc. Rumor has is that "G Unit" Gorilla Rob has not been seen with Brian and Eric Emanon since Sept 13th. Fans have sent word to Next Era Wrestling that they have seen Gorilla Rob out and about with a former impact player in N.E.W.'s past but were not able to reveal who it was. N.E.W. Announces 2nd Annual Halloween Costume Contest
For the second year Next Era Wrestling will be holding a Children's Halloween Costume Contest. Any children attending the event in costume will receive free admission with the purchase of an adult
ticket. Plus later on in the evening each child in costume has the opportunity to get in the ring and have their costume voted on by the fans in attendance and the special guest judges. Two prizes will be awarded; one for the best boys costume and one for the best girls.
